    Personal philosophy
I'm so proud to be an artist, because my Father is an artist. The best of the trade, in fact. I'm following in the family business! The One who envisioned every color that could ever exist, the One who paints the sky every morning, the One who has drawn us all with lovingkindness, has blessed me with a tiny smidgeon of His own artistic skill, creative thought, and sensitive soul.
So my aim is to make Him proud. "...Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men..." (Colossians 3:23).

    Design. What is it, really?

    Short 'n' sweet

Good design doesn't just look good. Good design is purposeful…it accomplishes a goal. It makes an impact on somebody...causes them to think...causes them to act. That's it in a nutshell. If you want the long version, keep reading.

    Philosophy (the long version)

"…Art, to whatever degree we can get a handle on  (I'm not sure that we really can) is a process. It begins in the heart and the mind...".

These are the words of television writer Jeff Melvoin, but I couldn't have put it better myself. The human mind is complex and intriguing, the heart just as much, and it's where your vision is born. What starts out as a sketch on a napkin, an image in your head, or a concept so brilliant, so inexpressible, that you can't even find the words to truly convey it—well, sometimes it takes more than just words to convey it. This is where n•Vision Designs comes in.  We help you to realize your vision, at times when you don't know how to make it a reality.

Human beings are highly visual creatures.

Supposedly, about half of our brains are dedicated to processing visual information. What we see drives us.  n•Vision Designs encourages you to "see with new eyes," but that is a process that goes much deeper than just visual perception.  n•Vision strives to offer yet another perspective, a viewpoint that is unique and refreshing; not just another way to see, but another way to perceive.  A new way to think about things. Hey, use a part of your brain you've never used before.

    Step outside of your boundaries.

For example, can you see the world through the eyes of a discouraged homeless man…and at the same time through the eyes of a penny-pinching millionaire? A power-hungry world leader…and a tree-hugging environmentalist? A tiny ant?  A nesting bird? No two will have the same experiences, no two will see their surroundings in the same way, even if occupying the very same place at the very same time. If you were that tiny ant, accustomed to seeing life from the ground up, how impactful would it be to suddenly take on the perspective of a bird, soaring over the life below you?

So what does this have to do with design?

What does this have to do with realizing your vision? Good questions. It's in the process of applying this outlook to the world of art and design that makes each project not only challenging, but fun…because the ultimate goal is to impact your target audience so much that they will take the intended action.  And action requires not just a small impact, but a powerful one.  Kinda like the one that just hit that ant, suddenly soaring. See where I'm going with this?

    Design is not just aesthetic.

Design should be purposeful, it should be striving towards your ultimate goal. Effective design causes something to happen. Subject matter is important, and what makes it memorable, provocative, or unique is the approach that is taken towards communicating it. n•Vision is about finding the beauty in a unique or unusual perspective and exploring it.  It's about encouraging people to see outside of the norm, the status quo, the clichés. n•Vision is about refusing to settle for what you may be accustomed to just because you're accustomed to it,  and opening your eyes to expect something different and creative.  Something you've never seen before.

    So hey...n•Vision that.
